Boaz Rottenberg - Managing Director

Boaz Rottenberg is co-founder of Maverick China Research and has served as Managing Director since 2006. He has managed projects for clients such as Visa, American Express, Motorola, France Telecom, Deutsche Telekom, Nokia, Hewlett Packard, Mettler-Toledo, and other leading Fortune 500 companies.

In November 2011 Boaz was elected to the steering committee of the Israeli Chamber of Commerce in China where he currently serves as the Vice-chairman.

Prior to founding Maverick China Research, Boaz was the director of market research at a leading Beijing telecom consulting firm; he also worked as a senior analyst at a China-focused market research firm, where he led a number of projects in the industrial, medical, and chemical sectors.

Dave Carini - Managing Director

Dave is a co-founder of Maverick China Research and has served as managing director since 2006. His current work focuses on electronic payments, online advertising, 3G, IPTV, and other emerging technologies in China. He has been widely quoted on telecom, media, and technology issues in the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, and other international publications.

Prior to founding Maverick China, Dave served as analyst, project manager, and international team director at a leading Beijing-based telecommunications research firm.

Grace Chia - Marketing Specialist

Grace Chia is currently serving a one-year internship at Maverick China Research until summer 2012. Her marketing work focuses on conference and event partnerships, as well as expanding our company's Web presence. She also assists in the research and writing of market reports.

Grace is an undergraduate at the National University of Singapore (NUS), majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Entrepreneurship. In addition to her internship, Grace is serving as the Vice President of the Young Entrepreneurs' Association of NUS (YEAN) in Beijing.

Joan Qiu - Researcher

Joan Qiu joined Maverick China Research in October 2011. She is currently serving as a researcher for customized projects and market reports.

Joan is from Guangdong Province and currently pursuing a Economics degree at Nankai University in Tianjin. In addition to her studies she has served as Vice President of the Green Group and President of Cantonese Club. Joan has also completed internships with Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and Ping An Insurance.

Rosie Gao - Researcher

Rosie Gao joined Maverick China Research in January 2012. She is currently serving as a researcher for customized projects and market reports.

Before joining Maverick China, Rosie was statistical analyst at Horizon Research Consultancy Group. In this role she focused on data organization and quantitative analysis. She participated customer satisfaction surveys for on a wide range of industries, including postal services, air travel, and mobile telecommunications.

Rosie grew up in Beijing and graduated with a BSc in Statistics from the Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) in July 2011. In addition to her studies, she also served internships at AVIVA-COFCO Ltd. and China's National Bureau of Statistics.

Jerry Lee - Researcher

Jerry Lee joined Maverick China Research in January 2012 as a researcher for customized projects and market reports.

Jerry is originally from Heilongjiang Province and graduated with a BEng in Software Engineering from Nankai University in July 2011. His computing skills include C/C++ language and SQL. In addition to his studies, Jerry has completed a internship at IBM's China Development Lab, during which he helped to analyze internal software systems for defects.

Rachel Lee - Office Administrator

Rachel Lee joined Maverick China Research in January 2012. Her primary job is to handle administrative work at our Beijing office; though she also participates in research as needed.

Rachel is currently an undergraduate at Beijing Geely University, pursuing a Bachelors in Trade and Tourism. She also took courses in Administration Management, Psychology and Japanese.

Prior to coming to Maverick China, Rachel worked at the Great Wall Company (Beijing Branch), and Second Good Teacher Education Center.

Anat Tila-Cohen - Analyst

Anat Tila-Cohen joined Maverick China Research in October 2011. She is currently serving as an analyst for customized projects and market reports.

Anat is from Israel and she graduated with a B.A (Honours) in East-Asian studies and B.A in Law (L.L.B) from Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2011. Before joining Maverick China, Anat completed an internship with the law department of the Israeli Parliament Economics Committee and was in charge of conducting research regarding pending legislation initiatives in the economic field and participated in the committee's discussions.

Almeric Chew - Marketing Specialist, SE Asia

Almeric Chew is currently serving as a marketing specialist in Maverick China Research. He is stationed in Singapore, and his marketing work is focused on  conference and event partnerships for SE Asia, as well as expanding our company's Web presence. He also assists in the research and writing of market reports.

Almeric is a rising junior at the National University of Singapore (NUS), majoring in Engineering Science with a minor in Entrepreneurship. He was previously in National University of Singapore Overseas College (NOC) Programme. Almeric is also a recipient of the NUS Alumni Overseas College Award.
