The TRP is based in the Centre of Asian Studies at the University of Hong Kong. According to the organization's website,
The Telecommunications Research Project is a social science centre researching the economics of telecommunications and information technology, and policy and regulatory issues associated with national information infrastructure development, with an emphasis upon the south-east and east Asian region.
