China MRI Market Assessment and Outlook 2012-2015

China's recent economic growth and increasing attention to healthcare for its large, older population has created various new opportunities in medical devices markets. In recent years, Chinese hospitals have focused on investing in new, advanced medical imaging equipment. China MRI Market Assessment and Outlook 2012-2015 examines patterns in the MRI equipment market and provides an in-depth analysis of the MRI market in China.

In this report, it has been revealed approximately half of the hospitals across China owned an MRI system. Report Writer Arlyss Gease says, "Although we saw that 50% of the hospitals in the sample own MRI systems, it's important to note that these are highly concentrated in more advanced Grade Three hospitals. Because of the high cost of MRI systems, we expect that growth in the market will continue to be uneven in future years, making an understanding of the key market segments important for suppliers of  advanced medical imaging equipment."

China PACS Market Assessment and Outlook 2012-2015

With Chinese becoming more affluent in recent years, there has been more attention paid to providing the people with the most advanced healthcare services. Chinese hospitals are now beginning to invest in medical imaging increasingly. This report provides a comprehensive survey of China's PACS industry, with analysis of the PACS market in China.

It has been found that there has been an increase in the purchase of PACS in China recently, with the last 4 years accounting for more than 75% of the purchases made. According to report writer Arlyss Gease, rapid growth will continue. "The stage for growth in PACS has been set by the tremendous investments in advanced imaging equipment Chinese hospitals have made since 2000 and a trend towards digitalization. At this point, investments are still primarily made by Grade Three hospitals and the market is highly fragmented. There is a lot of opportunity for the firms that grow in the segment of smaller, Grade Two hospitals."

Maverick China Research Releases Report on China Digital Radiography Market Assessment and Outlook 2012-2015

Maverick China Research releases report on Digital Radiography Market Assessment and Outlook

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 17, 2012 --DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY (DR) MARKET ASSESSMENT AND OUTLOOK 2012-2015, the latest release from Maverick China Research, draws from in-depth interviews conducted with over 300 DR market participants in China. According to this study, in recent years, Chinese hospitals have focused on investing in new, advanced medical imaging equipment such as digital radiography systems.

According to Digital Radiography Market Assessment and Outlook 2012-2015, a recent report published by Maverick China Research, 65% of all hospitals surveyed own at least one digital radiography (DR) unit.

Arlyss Gease, report writer and analyst at Maverick China Research, commented: "The striking thing about the DR market in China is the growth rate. Our data suggests a 40% growth rate year over year from 2000 to 2009, followed by a slump. The study looks at factors that will influence the behavior of the market in the future."

According to Maverick's study, the vast majority of DR systems purchased were multifunctional. All but one of the hospitals surveyed preferred multifunctional DR systems while only one hospital planned on purchasing a dedicated function system. This, in conjunction with the fact that hospitals generally owned only one DR system, suggests that Chinese hospitals usually use a single system to cover an assortment of imaging needs.

DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY (DR) MARKET ASSESSMENT AND OUTLOOK 2012-2015 addresses and evaluates the essential factors shaping the development of DR system equipment in China. The report examines trends in the DR market and provides a detailed analysis of the DR market in China. More details on the report can be found on Maverick China's website.

Maverick China Research Releases Report on Computed Tomography (CT) Market Assessment and Outlook

Maverick China Research releases report on Computed Tomography (CT) Market Assessment and Outlook

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 3, 2012 -- COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CT) MARKET ASSESSMENT AND OUTLOOK 2012-2015, the latest release from Maverick China Research, provides an in-depth analysis of the CT market in China, using important information obtained through interviews conducted with over 300 CT market players in China. According to this study, Chinese hospitals are quickly adopting single medical imaging systems such as CT systems to cover a broad spectrum of imaging needs. The CT market, being China's largest medical imaging market, is currently exiting its growth phase; this report offers perceptive insights regarding the future of CT market development.

According to Computed Radiography Market Assessment and Outlook 2012-2015, a recent report published by Maverick China Research, 95% of all hospitals surveyed own at least one computed tomography (CT) unit.

Arlyss Gease, report writer and analyst at Maverick China Research, commented: "The fact that 95% of the hospitals have CT systems and that sales seem to have peaked in 2008 suggests that the CT market in China is exiting the stage of rapid growth. We expect that suppliers will need to look to specific segments of the market for future growth opportunities."

According to Maverick's study, most of the CT systems owned by hospitals in the study had multiple layers. Approximately one-fifth of CTs had only one layer. Most hospitals owned CT systems with 2, 16, or 64 layers, with 16 layers being the most common. A system with more layers can make higher quality scans with fewer artifacts. The vast majority of CT systems were multifunctional, and this, combined with the fact that hospitals generally owned only a single CT system, suggests that Chinese hospitals typically use a single system to perform various imaging functions.

COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CT) MARKET ASSESSMENT AND OUTLOOK 2012-2015 covers the key factors driving the development of CT equipment in China. The report examines trends in the CT market and provides a detailed evaluation of the CT market in China.

Maverick China Releases "China Computed Radiography (CR) Market Assessment and Outlook 2012-2015" Report

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 4, 2012 -- According to CHINA COMPUTED RADIOGRAPHY (CR) MARKET ASSESSMENT AND OUTLOOK 2012-2015, a recent report published by Maverick China Research, approximately three-quarters of all hospitals surveyed own at least one computed radiography (CR) unit.

Arlyss Gease, report writer and analyst at Maverick China Research, commented: "Chinese hospitals made major investments in CR systems in the early 2000s, which is why the penetration rate is so high. Sales today are often made to hospitals that already own a system.”

All CR systems shipped in 2011 were multifunctional units, according to the study. The fact that the CR market is shrinking means that it is no longer cost-effective for suppliers to carry dedicated purpose units. Of the units sold in 2011, 91% were single-slot units. Multi-slot units are typically used to process larger numbers of images. As hospitals adopt new forms of technology, the need to process large numbers of images by CR is declining.

COMPUTED RADIOGRAPHY MARKET ASSESSMENT (CR) AND OUTLOOK 2012-2015 covers the key factors driving the development of CR equipment in China. The report examines patterns in the CR market and provides an in-depth analysis of the CR market in China. The report is part of Maverick China’s newly launched Medical Imaging Report Series.
