Recommendations and action plan
A thorough analysis of the market environment was followed by a SWOT analysis of the client itself. We closely analyzed the client's past and current attempts to do business in China, and compared it with what other foreign operators were doing in China.
Based on our findings regarding both the client's internal and external environments, we provided a comprehensive list of opportunities available to foreign operators in China, and our client-specific recommendations on which opportunities to pursue. We also mapped a near-term and long-term action plan for the client to effectively target specific market segments.
Methodology
Our research consisted mainly of first-hand interviews with both Chinese and foreign telecom operators, Chinese WVAS providers, and government contacts. During the 8-week project, we maintained close contact with the client through email, telephone, and through periodic draft submissions of the research as it was done. Upon completion of the project, we conducted a presentation of our findings at the client's Beijing representative office to top-level management, and re-convened with the client to discuss our recommendations for the next steps. |
